Senior Advisor, Public Relations

We are hiring a perceptive public relations leader with agency experience who can play a lead role on our growing health and human service accounts!

As the Senior Advisor, you’ll manage the client relationship and our team of experts, leading both towards success. With experience conducting public relations for clients in health care, human services, behavioral health or social services, you will have an instinct for the stories that matter most to our clients’ audiences. Managing budgets, timelines and expectations, you’ll deliver the Kane brand through exceptional client service, strategic planning, and creative execution. Using your previous agency experience and at least two years managing your own client accounts, you’ll tackle the day-to-day work to exceed our client’s expectations.

What you must have:

  • At least 6-8 years of relevant experience in public relations, communications, journalism and/or related fields, minimum of two years working in an agency environment managing your own client accounts
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and demonstrated ability to delegate tactical assignments and accurately judge and edit work of others with the ability to provide writing samples
  • The ability to manage and inspire a team and to make sound judgments on a daily basis, knowing when to seek senior counsel

It’s nice if you have:

  • Public relations or communications experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus: Government, Mental/Behavioral Health, Health & Human Services, Social Services

What you bring:

  • An understanding of many different roles, tools, and components of best-practice integrated public relations and the ability to recommend them to your clients
  • The ability to influence and persuade at the executive level
  • Fondness for structure and process with a motivation to develop them where they might not already exist.
  • An ability to distill complex and sometimes-political information and communicate it to varying audiences An insistence that strategic public relations work be tied to business objectives.
  • Experience writing for a wide variety of formats with a strong knowledge of AP style.
  • A hunger for information and resourcefulness to find more.
  • A proven ability to manage large projects, as well as teams, on multiple sizable accounts
  • The ability to manage and inspire a team and to make sound judgments on a daily basis, knowing when to seek senior counsel

What you’ll do:

In this role, you will be leading a number of client accounts and projects. As the primary point of contact, you will be responsible for crafting, managing, organizing and executing integrated public relations plans, ensuring internal teams have the input they need to produce high-quality tactics and clients receive exceptional service.

What your day will look like:

  • Act as company liaison between internal team and secured client; establish and maintain client relationships
  • Manage and track to client’s annual communications budget
  • Build, launch and manage communications campaigns and projects and manage ongoing client and media requests
  • Work with and advise client executive leadership on public and media relations communications
  • Track progress/metrics; track performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of overall project goals with high project performance
  • Collaborate with marketing team members and manage the development of public relations strategy needed to support integrated plans.
  • Support business development growing client accounts organically
