Kane Communications Group Honored with MMAC’s Focus on the Future Award

MILWAUKEE - (Aug. 31, 2020) Kane Communications Group, one of Milwaukee's fastest-growing public relations and integrated marketing firms, will receive the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce’s (MMAC) Fueling the Frontlines Award. This award is part of MMAC’s Focus on the Future Award series.

Kane will be honored for its critical support to local governments and healthcare organizations throughout the COVID-19 pandemic in southeastern Wisconsin.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Kane provided emergency communications support to multiple organizations including: the Milwaukee County Office of Emergency Management and Unified Emergency Operations Center; the City of Racine; and Rogers Behavioral Health.

Most notably, Kane launched the “Stay Home Save Lives MKE” campaign to promote public safety and minimize the spread of the coronavirus. The vision was to have an informed public taking proactive measures to keep themselves and their communities safe and healthy. The fully integrated multi-lingual campaign used billboards, radio and TV spots, social media, public relations and community relations to reach as many Milwaukee County residents as possible. The nine-week campaign delivered more than 52 million impressions.

Kane delivered vital internal and external communications support to the Milwaukee County’s Unified Emergency Operations Center. Their work included launching an employee newsletter, an external newsletter and web page to provide the latest information to constituents and employees.

Kane also launched the “Stay Safe Racine” campaign and website, as well as coordinated Facebook and Twitter town halls for leaders to reach Racine’s residents.

In addition, Kane worked with Rogers clinicians to provide information and support for front-line health care workers suffering from post traumatic stress disorder while treating COVID-19 patients. The campaign enabled workers to recognize the symptoms of PTSD in themselves and each other.

Kane is among 65 Focus on the Future Award honorees. Other award categories include: Established New Links in the Chain; Mother (or Father) of Invention; True Colors; Pivot Not Panic.

The MMAC Focus on the Future Awards will be presented  in a virtual event on Sept. 18, from noon to 1 p.m. Honorees will also be mentioned in a special edition of BizTimes Media. Registration information can be found here.
