Kimberly Kane to receive BizTimes Bravo! Entrepreneur/I.Q. Award
MILWAUKEE - (Aug. 4, 2020) - Kimberly Kane, founder and president of Kane Communications Group, one of Milwaukee's fastest-growing public relations and integrated marketing firms, will receive a 2020 Bravo! Entrepreneur/I.Q. Award from BizTimes Media.
Kane will be honored for her bold leadership and innovative management style. Under her guidance, the company has grown exponentially in revenues, clientele and staffing in each of the seven years since its founding.
“At Kane, we believe communications is a core business function capable of solving business problems, creating opportunity and ultimately improving the bottom line,” said Kane. “We have helped organizations rethink their strategies, build or rebuild their reputations in this new era and achieve very exciting results.”
As the needs of clients shifted, Kane sought out new service offerings with a focus on reputation management. In response to shrinking newsrooms, Kane saw the need to begin offering brand journalism for the company’s clients - adding former news producers, videographers and journalists to the team. She also launched an on-site communications model, using best-practices in strategic communications to help organizations design and build communications teams that align with business goals.
The firm's growth is reflected in its expanded and remodeled offices on the 12th floor of the 250 E. Wisconsin building in the heart of downtown Milwaukee's business district. Kane also has employees in New York, N.Y., and in Geneva, Switzerland.
Kane was one of nine Milwaukee-area entrepreneurs who graduated from the Small Business Administration’s 26-week Emerging Leaders program. The 26-week intensive program culminated with each CEO developing a three-year growth plan.
In addition, Kane Communications Group earned national certification as a Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Women's Business Development Center Midwest Certification Committee, a regional partner organization of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. As a certified WBE, Kane Communications Group is eligible to be recognized nationally by more than 1,000 corporations looking to engage with a woman-owned firm.
"Kimberly Kane has proven to be an innovative entrepreneur who is on the cutting edge of her profession and has assembled a diverse team of talent," said BizTimes Editor Andrew Weiland.
