Kane Communications Group Adds New Team Members

Key Team Members Promoted to New Positions

MILWAUKEE – (JAN. 20, 2020) – Kane Communications Group, a full-service, public relations and integrated marketing firm headquartered in downtown Milwaukee, announces multiple new hires and promotions to meet the needs of its growing client base. 

Since its founding in 2013, Kane’s philosophy has been deeply rooted in the idea of doing business differently and transforming the traditional communications model. Over the past two years, the agency has seen exponential growth in talent, services offered and office space.   

Kane is pleased to announce the following new hires and promotions: 

  • Steve Jagler, Director of Executive Communications. Steve Jagler brings his skills as “Milwaukee’s CEO Whisperer” in his new role as Director of Executive Communications. His focus will be on executive positioning and he will also contribute to brand journalism efforts. Steve most recently served as director of corporate communications at GRAEF-USA Inc., after spending more than three decades as a professional journalist. The capstone of his journalism career came when he was named business editor and featured Sunday “C-Level” columnist at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in 2015. He previously was executive editor of BizTimes Media in Milwaukee and managing editor of the Milwaukee Business Journal.

  • Jesus M. Rivera, Communications Associate. Jesus M. Rivera has a background in crisis and law enforcement communication. He has previously worked for the Milwaukee Police Department and has worked on public relations for clients in fitness, consumer and b2b brands. At Kane, he looks forward to working with clients to mitigate risk through strategic communication. Jesus earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in communications.

  • Tristen Shorter, Communications Associate. Tristen Shorter has a background in community and government relations, developing corporate best practices and researching diversity and inclusion initiatives. She served as an intern at several multi-national companies and government entities such as Harley-Davidson Motor Company, the Milwaukee Brewers and the United States House of Representatives. Tristen is a graduate of Marquette University’s College of Communication, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and political science and a master’s degree in communication.

  • Justyce Blankenship, Communications and Marketing Advisor. Justyce Blankenship has been promoted to Communications and Marketing Advisor. She joined the firm in September 2018 as a Communications Associate. Justyce brings a variety of corporate and agency experience, working with clients in law, health care, government, real estate, hospitality and nonprofit. In her new role, she will manage and execute strategic communications plans and serve as a trusted advisor to Kane’s clients.

  • Sydney Hofer, Brand Journalism and Public Relations Senior Advisor. Sydney Hofer has been promoted to Senior Advisor, Brand Journalism and Public Relations at Kane Communications Group. She joined the firm in January 2018.  Sydney brings more than 10 years of public relations experience to the Kane team, previously working at Kohl’s. She also has a background in journalism working as a newscast producer at TMJ4.  In her new role, she will lead storytelling efforts for Kane Communications Group and help clients build online newsrooms and develop content.
